On Tuesday, August 23 myself (age 70) and my granddaughter (age 27) shopped at IGA Candiac and made use of the self checkout. My granddaughter was putting MY groceries thru the scanning process and when it came to a can of vodka sprites. the clerk came over and asked for ID!!!. I explained to him that these were MY groceries and that my granddaughter was only assisting me but he insisted that she needed ID in order for ME to purchase the spritzers. He conferred with another clerk who also I insisted on ID. My granddaughter had to go get her ID from the car in order for the clerk to verify her age at which time I ( age 70) was allowed to purchase the drinks. He said it was to guard against me buying them then going home and allowing my granddaughter to consume them!! I would truly like to have some feedback on this as it is unacceptable.

I go to the Metro in Candiac rather than the IGA because this IGA has very low cleanliness standards.. I just don’t find the store clean, and the produce is never fresh. Candiac residents deserve better.

Went there today to buy vegetables. The asparagus had a sale price of 1.99 a pound. I took one pound came to 7.04. I told them it was marked on sale at 1.99 and they refused to sell it to me at that price. I saw green swiss chard at 2.99 a bunch. Turns out it was kale that I bought. I called the store to complain but they did not transfer me to administration but to the cashier. The protection aux consomateurs that says that if the price differs they must sell at the lowest price. I will not shop there again.

We went 3 times in one week to buy fried chicken around 6:00pm and every time there was none. The manager closes the counter early. I never had this problem with the IGA in Ste-Martine or the IGA on the 132 even when I went at 7:00pm, they had chicken. Update We have gone back for fried chicken 5 times during the last 2 months and the counter now closes at 4:00pm. Am I missing something? We even made a complaint to the manager and he acknowledged that he had received many complaints about this service. Normally people want fried chicken at supper. All that said, I will be going to the IGA on the 132 from now on for all my groceries. Candiac, you have lost my business.

Watch out for expired products!! You can always find expired products on the shelves. Be carefull and read the dates. I did a lot of complaints to the manager but for nothing...nothing changed.
